The Lake Region State College Lady Royals Volleyball team was coming off their biggest weekend of the season where they won 2 matches. With momentum and excitement on their side they took the court in a home matchup against Jamestown JV.
The Lady Royals piled up quick start after quick start in their two previous wins but they couldn't get that going tonight. In all 3 sets the Jimmies jumped out to an early lead forcing LRSC timeouts each time. In the first set of the night after an early run by the Jimmies the Royals were able to cut the lead to 13-10. However, a 12-2 run closed out the first set in favor of Jamestown JV 25-12. During set 2 of the match the Jimmies jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Making the final score of the second set 25-13. Set 3 Jamestown JV put the pressure on early and never relented. Unforced and service errors by the Royals helped extend the Jimmies lead, with the final being 25-12 in their favor. Jamestown JV wins the match 3 sets to 0.
Head Coach Brigitte Greywater said, "I think we are all a little disappointed in how we played tonight. After playing so well this past weekend, we wanted to have a good showing for our home crowd tonight. Jamestown JV is a very talented team but it comes down to the word we have used all year, consistency. We have got to be more consistent if we are going to make a run during the 2nd half of our season. We have it, we are capable of it, it just has to be an all the time thing."
The Royals are back in action Wednesday night on the road versus MonDak conference opponent Dakota College at Bottineau.
