Bio
Cole Klubek was hired on March 16th, 2026 to become the 3rd head women's hockey coach at Lake Region State College.
Cole brings a wide range of coaching, leadership, and teaching experience to this role. Most recently, he served as the head coach for the inaugural NCAA Division III women’s hockey program at Hilbert College, where he successfully built the program from the ground up. In just 16 months, he recruited and signed 26 student-athletes, organized the team’s schedule, coordinated travel, developed fundraising efforts, and helped establish traditions that continue with the program today.
His coaching background spans multiple levels of the game, including youth, collegiate, and international development. Cole has coached with organizations such as Team Wyoming, the Miami Toros, and the Laramie Outlaws, and has also worked with German National Team development camps. Earlier in his career, he even led a professional women’s hockey team in Germany.
Beyond hockey, Cole brings a strong background in education and leadership. He currently teaches secondary English and previously served as a graduate instructor at the University of Wyoming. Before entering higher education and coaching, he spent ten years serving in the United States Air Force as a weather forecaster, leading teams responsible for aviation weather operations.
Cole is also a USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach, demonstrating his commitment to athlete development and program excellence. His experience building teams, mentoring student-athletes, and connecting athletics with the broader campus community will be a tremendous asset to LRSC.
We are excited about the energy, leadership, and vision Cole brings to the Women’s Hockey program and our campus community. Please join me in welcoming him to Lake Region State College.
