Lake Region State College and Athletic Director Danny Mertens are proud to announce the addition of a new Clay Target club team to the athletic department.
The team will be led by their new Head Coach Norm Howard, he will be assisted by Dr. Doug Darling. Athletic Director Danny Mertens said about the program, "We are thrilled to be included in the inaugural season of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference clay target league. This is something we feel is going to attract a new base of students to our institution. Having two individuals like Norm and Dr. Darling lead the program will only help make an impact early."
Head Coach Norm Howard had this to say about the team, "I am very excited to take the reigns for this first season. We had an overwhelming turnout for the team with over a dozen students signing up. Having this program provides a great opportunity for kids in the area to continue doing something they love in college.
The very first Royals clay target shooting club team is made up of thirteen students. They will compete in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference league which is comprised of nine teams, a four team Western Division and a five team Eastern Division.
